Nick Boivin is a 17 year old with a positive attitude and a clear focus. Nick resides in the small Massachusetts town of Belchertown, just outside of Amherst. He is a senior who attends Belchertown High School during the regular school year, and Springfield Technical Community College in the summer. Nick is a well educated and well rounded student who strives for excellence. He is one of only 3 students at Belchertown High School that will be graduating a year early. After high school Nick plans on going to the University of Massachusetts Amherst. This is where he will spend the next four years of his schooling. After four years Nick will have obtained his bachelors in degree in mechanical engineering. After graduating from UMass, Nick plans on moving down south to continue his education at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. Aside from school Nick also has a part time job. He likes to hunt, fish, ride atvs, shoot some hoops, and hang out with his best friend. Most of all though, Nick's biggest passion is racing.
Nick started racing at the age of 6 years old. Racing started out as just a hobby but soon blew up into Nick's career choice. In his first year of racing, Nick drove a mini-restricted go-kart. He proudly won the first race of the season and eventually the overall points championship. As the years went on Nick moved up in the world of racing and continued to do exceedingly better each year. In 2001 the Stafford Motor Speedway recognized Nick as one of the Racing Stars of the Future. In 2002 Nick won the Tiger Sprint championship at Pinnacle Raceway where he won 14 races undefeated. In 2003 Nick backed up his performance by winning the Junior Outlaw championship at Sugar Hill Speedway. Two years later in 2005, Nick was out to win it all, and that's what he did. With over 35 victories in a single season, Nick won 6 different championships in 2005. Four of these were local track championships and 2 of them were regional titles. Nick was also able to gain 2 of these titles in an undefeated fashion. In 2006 Nick and the team of Boivin Racing went to the national level of karting. Astonishing as it was, Nick won the 2006 BeaveRun Nationals in Pennsylvania. 2007 would be no less than the previous year. Nick won 2 more championships in 2007, both on the regional level. After 9 years of racing go-karts, Nick moved up and raced late model stock cars in 2008, at the age of 15. In his first year behind the wheel of a real full bodied racecar Nick earned the honors on Most Improved Driver. The 2009 year was one of great triumph for Nick and the whole team. For the second year they raced the late model stock car. This year Nick finally won his first stock car race and then a week later, won his second. At the young age of 17 Nick has many accomplishments including 12 championships and over 100 feature victories. Nick will continue to strive for victory and never give up in his many seasons to come.
